Tattoo Courses - Learn How to Tattoo |
Course fees are based on a professional tattoo artist's potential
earnings. There is no standard charge for carrying out tattoo
work.
Hourly rates in Europe and the USA are higher than
those in the UK as there is more competition here. For example,
in the UK hourly charges start from £15, whereas top pros
in the USA charge up to $350 per hour.
The Professional Tattoo Academy (UK) is pleased to
announce that there will be
no price increase to fees for its tattoo and body-piercing courses
in 2010.

Two Week Professional Tattoo Course
In the first week of this tattoo course students will learn all
about setting up a tattooist's workstation, tattoo
machine mechanics and hygiene procedures. There will also be a
particular emphasis on tattoo drawing skills and drawing practice.
The latter part of the week is spent learning how to tattoo on
skin substitute.
This is followed by a hands-on practical-orientated second week
where students will advance to actually tattooing either themselves
or each other, or even an adult 'model' if they have someone suitable
to bring along.
Talks are given on how to go about setting up a professional tattoo
studio, finding the best location for a tattoo studio and all
legal matters relating to running a tattoo business.
Expert advice is given on successfully running and maintaining
a tattoo business, as well as how to work at tattoo expos and
details are provided about all the best suppliers of tattoo equipment.
The price of this course includes the cost of a tattoo starter
kit (excluding autoclave and ultrasonic cleaner).
Course fee: £2500.00 including starter kit, or £2250.00
excluding starter kit.

Advanced Tattoo Course - new for 2010
This course has been designed for people who already have a basic
knowledge of tattooing, but would like to learn more advanced
techniques of shading and colouring.
It is particularly suited to tattooists who have come back to
the trade, who have the basic knowledge of tattoo studio hygiene
and tattoo machine maintenance.
The course is also ideal for students who have completed the
PTA Two Week Professional Tattoo Course, who wish to hone their
tattooing skills to the next level, for example in the techniques
of grey-shading and use of bright colours.
There are no specific dates for the Advanced Tattoo Course, as
each course is tailored to suit individual needs and will be carried
out on a one-to-one basis. Please phone to discuss your requirements.
Course fee: £275.00 per day.

Please
note that accommodation is not included in the price of any of
the courses,
but it can be arranged for you at a decent local B & B if
required. |
Disclaimer
The PTA does not guarantee that by completing
one of its courses, or receiving a PTA certificate, students
will necessarily qualify for an actual job as a professional
tattoo artist or body-piercer; that will depend entirely
on each student's personal endeavours.
However, the PTA will offer advice to help
students achieve their goal. Having invested time and money
to receive the best training available in the UK at the
PTA, demonstrates to potential employers a high standard
of ability and professionalism.
Please note that it is illegal to tattoo a
person anywhere other than on premises specifically licensed
for that purpose. Penalties are severe.
